VMC - 10-Pocket Umbrella Tool Changer - Mechanical Switches and Proximity Sensors - Replacement

This procedure is applicable to a 10-pocket umbrella tool changer. This procedure tells you how to replace the shuttle and carousel motor proximity sensors or mechanical switches. This procedures shows proximity sensors. This procedure is the same for mechanical switches.

Push POWER OFF. Set the main circuit breaker to the OFF position. Lock the main circuit breaker. Use an approved lock with an approved safety tag.
Remove the umbrella carriage assembly cover. Replace the mechanical switches or the proximity sensors that are damaged. If you disconnect more than one mechanical switch or proximity sensor, make sure the locations of the connections have labels on the connector bracket.

Connect the new sensor cables to the correct locations on the connector bracket. Do some tool changes to make sure the tool changer operates correctly. Install the carriage assembly cover.

Be aware: Many service and repair procedures should be done only by authorized personnel. The service technicians at your Haas Factory Outlet (HFO) have the training, experience, and are certified to do these tasks safely and correctly. You should not do machine repair or service procedures unless you are qualified and knowledgeable about the processes.
