Rotary - Maintenance - Oil Fill

Drain and fill the oil in a rotary unit at 2-year intervals. This procedure tells you how to fill the oil for rotaries and tilt axis rotary units.

  1. Drain port plug
  2. Contamination

  6. TRT160 & TRT210 fill port plug


Remove the drain port plug [1] from the bottom of the rotary unit. Drain the oil from the rotary. Clean all contamination [2] from the drain port plug [1]. Install the drain port plug [1].

Remove the fill port plug [3]. Use a funnel to pour the oil into the rotary unit. Look through the sight glass [4] to make sure the oil is filled to the top of the sight glass [4].

note: For recommended oil types, refer to Lubricant Tables for Haas Machine Components.
On a TRT160 or TRT210 tilt-axis rotary unit [5], you cannot see the sight glass [4]. Use the fill port plug [6] to see the oil level.

Be aware: Many service and repair procedures should be done only by authorized personnel. The service technicians at your Haas Factory Outlet (HFO) have the training, experience, and are certified to do these tasks safely and correctly. You should not do machine repair or service procedures unless you are qualified and knowledgeable about the processes.

Danger: Some service procedures can be dangerous or life-threatening. DO NOT attempt a procedure that you do not completely understand. Contact your Haas Factory Outlet (HFO) and schedule a service technician visit if you have any doubts about doing a procedure.
