The Haas control organizes machine functions into three modes: Setup, Edit, and Operation. Each mode shows on one screen all of the information you need to do tasks under that mode. For example, in Setup mode, you have access to both the work offset table, the tool offset table, and position information. Edit mode gives you access to the program editor and optional systems like Visual Programming (VPS) (which contains Wireless Intuitive Probing (WIPS)). Operation mode includes Memory (MEM), the mode in which you run programs.

The Mode and Display bar shows [1] the current mode and [2] the current display function.

Mode, Key Access, and Mode Display

Mode Keys Display [1] Function
Setup ZERO RETURN, HANDLE JOG SETUP: ZERO, SETUP: JOG Provides all control features for machine setup.
Edit EDIT, MDI, LIST PROGRAM ANY, EDIT: MDI, ANY Provides all program editing, management, and transfer functions.
Operation MEMORY, EDIT, LIST PROGRAM OPERATION: MEM, OPERATION: MEM, ANY MEMORY provides all control features necessary to run a program. EDIT provides background editing of active programs. LIST PROGRAM provides background editing of inactive programs.

Be aware: Many service and repair procedures should be done only by authorized personnel. The service technicians at your Haas Factory Outlet (HFO) have the training, experience, and are certified to do these tasks safely and correctly. You should not do machine repair or service procedures unless you are qualified and knowledgeable about the processes.

Danger: Some service procedures can be dangerous or life-threatening. DO NOT attempt a procedure that you do not completely understand. Contact your Haas Factory Outlet (HFO) and schedule a service technician visit if you have any doubts about doing a procedure.
