Classis Haas Control (CHC) - Automatic Maintenance Reminders

Applies to machines built from:
January, 2000

All Haas machines made after 2000 include a MAINTENANCE page in Current Commands. This page has a set of maintenance intervals that the control can monitor.

Regular maintenance is important to make sure that your machine has a long and productive life, and to keep the machine in operation as much as possible. The most common maintenance tasks are simple and you can do them yourself. You can also ask your HFO about their comprehensive preventive maintenance program for complex maintenance tasks.

Settings 167-186 control the default maintenance interval for each maintenance item. The Maintenance Monitor page shows only maintenance items that have a default interval (non-zero).

Maintenance intervals have (3) possible unit values:

  1. On-time (hours): The control counts down this interval while the machine is on.

  2. Motion time (hours): The control counts down this interval only while the component you select is in operation.

  3. Tool changes (each): The control counts this interval down by (1) after each tool change.

You can change each setting to increase or decrease the default (initial) interval. At the end of each maintenance interval, the control shows a MAINTENANCE DUE message and icon.

  3. To adjust the interval count, push the RIGHT or LEFT cursor arrow.

On-time and motion-time intervals increase or decrease (1) increment when you push the RIGHT or LEFT cursor arrow. Tool-change intervals increase or decrease (25) increments each time you push a cursor arrow.

  4. Push ORIGIN again to hide the status of an item. The maintenance interval changes back to "--".

Be aware: Many service and repair procedures should be done only by authorized personnel. The service technicians at your Haas Factory Outlet (HFO) have the training, experience, and are certified to do these tasks safely and correctly. You should not do machine repair or service procedures unless you are qualified and knowledgeable about the processes.

Danger: Some service procedures can be dangerous or life-threatening. DO NOT attempt a procedure that you do not completely understand. Contact your Haas Factory Outlet (HFO) and schedule a service technician visit if you have any doubts about doing a procedure.
